All USB 2 hard drives work just fine over USB 1.1. Things just run at USB 1 speeds... The La Cie drive I'm using, for example, has USB 2, FW400, FW800, and eSATA interfaces, but I mostly use it via USB 1.1. When getting an external drive, the only issue will be the HD file system type. Most are pre-initialized as FAT. Use your fav disk utility to reinitialize the drive to be Apple Partition Map, with HFS+ volumes. - Dan. -- - Psychoceramic Emeritus; South Jersey, USA, Earth --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to Low End Mac's iMac List, a group for those using G3, G4, G5, and Intel Core iMacs as well as Apple eMacs.
