Thanks for the advice guys.

To answer Dan's question, I will be backing up between 200 and 500MB.
And to Clark: I don't have another Mac (yet).

Like I say, I don't want a full HD backup because I have an official
OS 9.2.2 install CD and can easily get back up and running in about an
hour in the event of a catastrophic HD crash.

Dan, I know Zip and SuperDisk are obsolete technology, but this is
about the only machine I'll be running them on. I'm just looking for a
simple solution. I like your idea of using a USB/FW external drive,
but I'm not sure if the drives that are rated for USB 2.0 can run on
1.1. Does anybody know? It'll be slow...but it just has to work.

And yeah....flash drives are out...they're okay for moving data
around, but I wouldn't trust them for archival purposes.
