This person must be mistaken, thinking of what people say about the excess energy used by incandescent bulbs, which being generated by mostly coal-powered power plants, increases C02. It is a fact that most of the energy used by a incandescent light bulb is generating heat, not light - while I am not convinced that global warming exists, or if it does that we can influence it in any way - I am excited when I look at getting really energy-efficient - I think of murder-mysteries we all loved - the house in the woods, a tree falls the power line, the house is dark, no phone ---- today, with energy-efficient lights, we can have a backup power source for a few lights in such a house for not much money -
Most of my house is florescent, and for the most part I love the lights - i still use incandescent in a few that don't seem to do well with a florescent, and if I need a particular bulb for reading or such, I will use it .
