I'm sorry if this is a duplicate post. I sent it earlier and got an
auto-reply from the list with information about
unsubscribing/subscribing/posting to the list! Not sure if my note actually
made it to the list or note so I am trying again.
------------------------------
In the admin page for mailing lists, there is a setting for "Allow
Unsubscribe based on subject line." I assume this is a setting that makes it
possible for someone to hit the reply button and send a message with
"Remove" (or something) in the subject line in order to get off the list.
I've looked through the documentation and have set up an Alias that is
supposed to handle this function. But so far I haven't been able to get this
working.
I've set an Alias for "MailingList-Remove" and pointed it to the imailsrv
program with a command line of "imailsrv.exe -remove mail.domain.com
MailingListName." I then sent a message to this address with "Remove" in the
subject line. This didn't do anything.
Am I missing something? The documents mention that the message has to be
forwarded without change to the headers. Does this mean that the message HAS
to be forwarded by someone else? I assume not otherwise a user wouldn't be
able to remove himself from the list without someone else's intervention.
The list that I have is set up for Moderator only posting. Does this make a
difference?
Thanks if someone can tell me how to turn this function on. Or maybe I am
misunderstanding what it is supposed to do?
