I agree MS DNS used to stink big time and they rewrote it. And I also agree
with Walt that W2K is very heavily dependent on the new Dynamic DNS model
so if you plan on going to 2K you will most likely find yourself using MS
DNS sooner than later anyway. There is a good book out that covers both MS
DNS and Bind.. Seems like it was an O'Reilly book even.
And like Walt also said, you DO NOT need a Unix box to run DNS. We even
used to use Mac DNS Pro from Mice and Men on the Mac because it worked
great and was brainless to configure and run. We only switched to MS DNS as
we pushed the final Macs off the network and got them back towards creative
where they belong.
