The best thing to do is talk to your customer instead of turning them off. 
Their staff will freak and assuredly move the account. Communication, my friend.

Good afternoon
I'm having an issue with a customer and want to put them on hold.
If I go to User Administration and to the Utilities tab and then to Global User 
Changes,
Then check the no box on the Grant Account access, Do I only block them from 
logging on?
Or does it do that plus block or bounce incoming messages.
I need to get their attention, without losing messages
