Sorry, i must not have explained correctly. 5 days ago deleting and moving
did not work. 4 days ago server was rebooted. 3 days ago deleting and
moving still did not work, same as 5 days ago.
Java is enabled, ive tested it myself. Oh well, seems to only be happening
to a very small number of people. I recreate the mailboxes and copy over
the mbx
thx

Mike,
Well, that is a somewhat different story! But if the problem developed after
the restart, I'd still try my suggestion. Then I'd use Tony's advise before
blowing away the users mailbox.
If new mail is sent to that user, does it show up? If it does, then the lock
is probably not a problem. About the only other thing I could suggest is
that the clients browser might not be 'java enabled' so not all buttons in
IMail will function. You could try the IMail Client on the server (select
domain and user from drop down boxes, no POP3 information needed!) and click
OK. Can it deleted a message? If it can, the only other thing might be
permissions on that users folders. This would not normally change, but worth
looking at and comparing to another (working) users folders.
You could also copy the main.mbx to another account you create for testing
and try reading it from there. If that works, the mailbox file is probably
OK. If this works, then I'd kill the user account and make sure his folder
is deleted, then recreate the user and copy the main.mbx from the test
account that worked.
