No.  I'm pretty sure that IMail doesn't look at that header when sending the mail (or 
receiving mail with such a header).  It just adds it so that the receiving server 
knows that it is listserver traffic, and not a personally written E-mail.

Because they are bozos.  They likely had some executive get a spam that had the 
header, and the executive told the programmers to look for it.

The fact is less than 1% of the spam in our spam database has a "Precedence:" header 
(about 3% of those are 'list', the other 97% 'bulk').  Over 7% of the mail in our 
non-spam database has a precedence header (although 2% are 'bulk' and 98% 'list').

What would be nice would be if IMail allowed you to choose between 'bulk' and 'list'.  
That way, the intent of the Precedence: header would still work.

If someone wanted to be daring, they could use a hex editor to imailsrv.exe and change 
the two instances of 'Precedence: bulk' to 'Precedence: list' and see if AOL accepted 
it.
