If it says "To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]", and AOL thinks it is blank, they are obviously
mistaken. What they really should be saying is "This E-mail was not addressed
directly to an AOL user", or something to that effect. Apparently, they require the
AOL user name to appear in the headers (or it may be part of their "point system").
They should NOT be looking at the RCPT TO: for spam testing. They should be using
that simply to see if someone is attempting to relay E-mail through their mail
servers. That's a very different beast from checking for incoming spam. Incoming
spam is E-mail destined for their users, and may or may not be ethical/legal depending
on various factors. Relaying is unethical and illegal no matter how you look at it,
and is abuse of the AOL mail server.
