Harry,
Must be something 'different' about the network having the problems! How
about a firewall or proxy between client and server? If the client is not
seeing that the server supports ESMTP and SMTP AUTH, it might not use it,
believing it is not supported at this server. If you could get the client
side logs, that would show the SMTP connection and the EHLO response.
Check your SMTP Security settings and make sure 'Disable SMTP Auth
Reporting' is not enabled. Just to be sure, enable it, Apply, stop/start
SMTP service, then disable again, Apply, stop/start service and test.
