I've noticed a couple times since upgrading to version 7 that after the server has been up for a few days the web messaging service is consuming lots of memory.
I noticed that the server seemed slow this morning so I logged on to it and saw in the task manager that the memory in use was over 650mb and in the process list that the web service was taking 90mb+. So I tried to stop that service. It seemed to take forever. When the "stopping service" progress bar was about 3/4 complete, the memory usage dropped to a normal ~120mb. The progress bar continued till it reached the end and then windows 2000 gave an error that the service was not responding. I looked in the process list and the web service was not listed so I figured that it did actually stop at the 3/4 mark. The next thing I did was restart the service. It started in a snap and the memory usage stayed at an exceptable level. Any ideas? Is anyone else seeing this? We're running IMail 7.04hf2 on a Dell 2450 dual 866 with 512mb of ram. We are also running Declude 1.26a and HKSI's killerwebmail. Thanks, Jim Please visit http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html to be removed from this list.
