one more thing when I look at the queue I notice that the mess. that seem to be getting hung are the ones sent by my boss to multiple recipients, (if any one is the spammers it is him, with his 2billion a day jokes) needless to say he is on my filter list *lol*

Unfortunately, it likely will not solve the problem. If there are lots of the SMTP32.EXE processes in memory, and they are not going away (even after many minutes/hours), then they are likely stuck. Not too many people experience this, but the times that they do, it is usually due to a bogus or corrupt message of some sort in the spool. First, though, I would check to see if there is a valid reason for all those SMTP32.EXE processes. Is a lot of mail being sent or received? Is it possible that a spammer is sending mail through your server? -Scott --- Declude: Anti-virus, Anti-spam and Anti-hijacking solutions for IMail. http://www.declude.com --- [This E-mail was scanned for viruses by Declude Virus (http://www.declude.com)] Please visit http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html to be removed from this list.
