I have been getting duplicate email. I use Outlook 2002 with a 250mb .pst file. However, I have also been experiencing another anomaly. I have enabled "remove from server when deleted from Deleted Items" When I empty the Deleted Items folder, mail that was supposed to be deleted shows up again in my inbox.

The theory on the large .mbx file and large .pst files make sense. However, I am very surprised there are not more than a handful that are experiencing this duplicate message issue. I am not convinced at all that it is a problem with Outlook anymore. -Don S. > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:IMail_Forum- > [EMAIL PROTECTED]] On Behalf Of Bill Foresman > Sent: Friday, May 17, 2002 9:36 AM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: Re: [IMail Forum] Duplicate E-mail Messages in Client SOftware > > that's the way post.office works and it's rather convenient at times. > Having > each email as a separate file allows the admin to provide more help than > simply deleting everything as in the case of one file. > > Bill > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Len Conrad" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Sent: Friday, May 17, 2002 8:46 AM > Subject: RE: [IMail Forum] Duplicate E-mail Messages in Client SOftware > > > > > > >very poor at keeping their outlook.pst files tidy and manageable and > some > > >are 100Mb+ > > > > Huge .mbx files, 100 mbytes will suffice, are suspected in other > > situations, like sending iwebmsg into fits. > > > > If you're saying your problems stopped when you reduced the .mbx files > to > > empty or small, the case against huge mbx files is getting stronger. > > > > Maybe it's time for Ipswitch to switch from single .mbx file to > something > > like maildir, where each message is a separate file.
