For what it is worth, We run our own custom developed email client software and have not seen this problem. I have over 3000 mailboxes on my server with about 98% of users running this client.
If I look at my mailbox on my client I see that it is over 1.2GB in size. Does this take IMail out of the equation??? By the way, I have a few (3-5 users) who are running Outlook Express. It is not uncommon for these guys to simply lose all their mail in the client. They simply show up for work one morning and their mail is gone. Checking out the mbx files and they are of zero length. Sounds like Outlook Express has a number of other issues...
