Tom, I had the same problem. It happened once with IMail and a few times with MS Exchange. It usually happened with larger mailboxes... greater than 80MB or so. This was fixed usually when we rebooted the client. We also had a bizarre problem where each message would have an attachment that included a duplicate of the contents of the email.
