Well, I think I am correct but I have been proven wrong enough times
to not be dogmatic about it. I think web messaging uses imail1.exe and
on my systems when I send a message via imai11.exe I find an entry for
it corresponding to the event in the security logs. That's why I
thought it was prudent to look.

It makes sense to me that if it isn't in the logs then that's why no
message appears but since he turned on full auditing I can't
understand why some sort of failure record wasn't generated.

Well, unless it was a path problem caused by the template path issue.
 Then it couldn't find imail1.exe in the first place.  That used to be
 more common if the templates were installed on another disk and a
 patch was applied the template directory would revert to c:/imail/web
 or some such.

But I don't know - I'm pretty much out of ideas.
