Hi,

Nope, we ruled out message size and the possibility that our customer's msn.com
mailboxes were over their limit. It wasn't just a few msn.com email addresses either
- it blew up on us on a huge scale. Every piece of mail our mail server tried to send
to msn.com for several days (including 1K test messages from our support mailbox on
the server) resulted in the same SMTP_DELIV_FAILED error. However, we could send the
same 1K test message from an email account we maintain on mail.yahoo.com for testing.
Those messages were delivered with no problem.

We probably have 6 or 7 of these remote email boxes that we use to troubleshoot
various email issues our users might encounter. In fact a couple of the test mailboxes
we use we've swapped out with fellow ISPs in exchange for a reciprocal test account on
our mail server. Test messages were sent from those accounts with the same results.

Oh, and in case anyone is wondering, the answer is... No. Our mail server hasn't been
listed on any of the spam or RBL lists since well before IMail 5.0 was released. I
can't vouch for before that time since we ran Post.Office 2.0 way back before we
switched to IMail. Now *THAT* mail server was an open-relay spammers dream come true!
I could tell some stories... :)

Anyway, I'm in the process of cracking open our SMTP logs from earlier this week...
approx 30-50 meg a day - so bear with me! I'll try to make some 'before' and 'after'
comparisons and I'll post the results to the list. Hopefully this will help some of
the other IMail Admins who are having problems sending to certain domains.

Best regards,

Julie
