But the problem happens under multiple browsers that are in the
browser.cap and with multiple accounts. If it was a browser problem
replacing or deleting the mbx file should have no effect. Also new
mail accounts should have a clean setup and not have any problems and
they do.

I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that the browser is not the problem
or
part of it. When you are accessing other accounts using a given
workstation
and browser, you are accessing other mailboxes (main.mbx) that contain
e-mails with attachments which may or may not have been "correctly"
saved in
the other accounts' mailboxes because the users of those other accounts
used
an incompatible browser, possibly one not listed in the file
<Drive:>\IMail\Web\Browser.cap. So, the .MBX files may have something
to do
with the Web interface when viewed on your machine. As R. Scott Perry
mentioned, an e-mail may or may not be properly recognized by IWEBMSG
and
once it is saved (incorrectly) in a .MBX file, anyone accessing the
account
which has this "corrupted" .MBX file will not be able to have messages
with
attachments displayed properly even though you happen to be using a
compatible browser.
