This is what I thought and tried to explain (badly). I have asked privately
that Alexander create a brand-new, temporary account for me and send me a
test message with a plain-text attachment so that I could log in and see if
I am indeed experiencing the problem he describes.

The reasoning behind this is that I surmise that the testing that Alexander
performed so far dealt with pre-existing bad messages in various mailboxes.
As you rightly pointed out, shuffling .MBX files that contain a malformed
messages and accessing them from any client browser is not going to shed any
new light on what is really happening.

Since he stated that all new accounts now [seem to] inherit the attachment
display issue, I asked him to create a test account for me. Alexander or I
will post back to the list when we have sorted this thing out using a
brand-new test account and a "virgin", plain-text attachment.
