Do i have to get the colo to make changes for in in-addr-arpa?

Either that, or they can add the entry for you. But all reverse DNS requests will go to them, so they *must* do something on their end to let other DNS servers know that the reverse DNS entry exists, or to go to your DNS server.


then my concern is that don't those files have to be at least class 'c'? where i
would be screwed, because almost no one in a colo has a class c?

They should take care of that for you (either by adding the reverse DNS entry themselves, or by instructing you how to do classless reverse DNS).
