Since  others have guessed both ways, why don't you clear this up: are
you  referring to Web Messaging or SMTP/POP3?

In  the former case, host headers are automatically used if the domain
name  used  to  access  IWEBMSG  is  the  same  as  an  IMail  virtual
host--there's  no  need  to  change  any  templates, even--and you can
already  use  an unqualified name.

In the latter case, as Chuck points out, there's no way for the client
to  forward  any additional "header" info, so the FQUN does need to be
used,  but  it's  only a one-time deal, so are they really bellyaching
about that?
