I run virtual servers, and I don't think I have ever typed in a % sign. I
always use the [EMAIL PROTECTED] for the username in our outlook settings. I
have a root mail server which is assigned an IP, but the other 10 are using
a virtual. I just double checked now and I have the @ sign NOT the % sign.

Thank you all for your responses.

Perhaps "HATE" is a strong word. The natives are "confused." [And Tech
Support HATES when that happens.]

To clarify, webmail is not an issue because the login form clearly requests
"Email Address."

The trouble we're experiencing is isolated to the "%" (percent) character
required when setting up mail clients. Too many end-users get tripped up on
this. Our previous mail server (Post.Office) did not compare to IMail and
did not support cross-domain user overlap, but this limitation led to far
fewer support calls than the '%' requirement has.
