We have been dealing with this for some time. 5.x was lightning fast
and we have complaints every day now after 7.x->8.x migration. We have
actually lost some business because of this. My own opinion is that is
is a serious misdesign in Imail itself. It now parses for a lot of
information in every MBX file when loading. The bigger the MBX the
worse this gets real fast. If your user downloads all their email and
the MBX files are small there is no problem. We saved some business by
moving some people from webmail to Outlook, and this was hard on us
time wise. We still have requests to move back to version 5.x by angry
users.
Support at Ipswitch told us it was our older Seagate SCSI drives, but
we just do not buy this. We only had a problem when we went to 7.x
then 8.x To use it is the most serious problem with Imail now and it
is a bad one. 5.x was instant on the loading.
