The point of the catchall account is that we frequently have clients that email the wrong address. They misspell our employee's names and we don't want to trust the bounce they may or may not get, to let them know they are morons.
As long as we have a catchall we get emails for nonexistent users, but beside that point, the Antispam is grabbing emails for these former users before it would even reach their accounts. I've tried it already, whacked their accounts completely from Imail and yet my Spam account gets dozens of emails for these people. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Len Conrad Sent: Friday, July 18, 2003 2:24 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [IMail Forum] Stopping the Spam to former employees... >We have a couple of former employees that used to and >unfortunately still get tons of Spam. How can you receive spam to non-existent users? The is easiest kind of reject. You don't even have to do anything. SMTPD will do it automatically. >With the use of the catchall account What's the point of that? Remove the evil nobody@ alias and go work on real problems. :)) Len _____________________________________________________________________ http://MenAndMice.com/DNS-training: Seattle; Chicago; San Jose; Wash DC IMGate.MEIway.com: anti-spam gateway, effective on 1000's of sites, free To Unsubscribe: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html List Archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/imail_forum%40list.ipswitch.com/ Knowledge Base/FAQ: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/IMail/ To Unsubscribe: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html List Archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/imail_forum%40list.ipswitch.com/ Knowledge Base/FAQ: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/IMail/
