I searched my logs, no "unknown users" rejects for any SMTPD.
That's normal with nobody@ active.
Send from a remote server to one of these dead accounts, with and without the nobody alias active, and see what happens.
With nobody alias, all mail will be accepted, and then perhaps caught by your spam rules.
Without a nobody alias, mail to unknown users should be rejected by STMPD at the envelope stage.
