Re: [IMail Forum] Webmail Performance on Wednesday 11:08:08 AM
2.8GHz 1GB Ram 40GB drive. 1.1MB Bandwidth. All runs well but web
mail. This is about my tenth post regarding this, so if you search the
archive, you will see I have tried everything. The machine is running
just fine except for web mail and I am using Classic templates. All is
maintained well, defragged twice daily etc. Typical processor use is
now about 5-50%, rarely above that. The problem is the parsing of many
mailboxes which takes all day. I don't know if Ipswitch changed this
to accurately display size of mails, etc., but this appears to be the
software design change from 5.x whicgh ran 100 times faster. If you
have only a few messages, it will load up in 10-15 seconds (still very
slow) but if you have a dozen mailboxes with maybe 500-1000 messages
you can wait 1-2 minutes each time it has to refresh. The very same
mailboxes loading in Imail 5.x took about 1-2 seconds to load up on
each refresh. My personal opinion is that there has been a design
change in the product causing this and degrading the product. I have
to conclude this as nothing support or in the listserver has worked at
all. There are many complaining about this here for some time. Maybe
we are overlooking something, but even if I put text only templates or
Imail default templates in place, I get the exact same results.
Thanks,
