Thanks, Mike, but we don't use Earthlink for SMTP so we don't use them for
relay. It sounds to me like our 199.44.118.2 address is being blocked for
some reason unknown. Prior to installing the PIX, an email from us to
Earthlink (as show in the logs) looked like this:

12:01 08:15 SMTP-(00000160) 250-coot Hello dns.mgtamer.com [199.44.118.253],
pleased to meet you

After the PIX it looks like this:

12:08 00:53 SMTP-(000000D8) 250-robin Hello dns.mgtamer.com [199.44.118.2],
pleased to meet you

I've searched for other differences but there are none.

The 199.44.118.253 address was actually our NAT router, which reversed to
vpn.mgtamer.com. The 199.44.118.2 is the right address for our email server.
It reverses to dns.mgtamer.com.

I've got emails into Earthlink to try and get the problem recified but that
could take days. Does anyone have a phone number for Earthlink for resolving
these problems?

Hank

<Hi,
<
<Just a thought... since your ORIGINATING IP address is different, it could
be that Earthlink has a list of IP addresses they will accept smtp traffic
FROM <or To. < <Since your originating IP address has technically changed,
perhaps you need to notify Earthlink (assuming they are proving you with a
full-time connection <of some sort). < <They are PROBABLY forcing all your
outgoing mail through their servers and your new Originating IP address is
most likely not listed in their "allowed to <relay" to table. (from the
original message you sent).
