Let me try to address your original question: of your IMail server is acting as an anti-virus/anti-spam gateway for an external server.Hi Scott,
A lot of "onlys" ;-)
Yes, many people have (with "only" meaning either "IMail only with no
addons", typically without offering anti-spam/anti-virus, or "only" meaning "only an IMail server" that has addons for anti-virus/anti-spam on the same server).
I can't find the connection to my original question, see subject.
The build in antispam tools of IMail and the antivirus standard works perfectly for a few hundret domains.
Why buy a mercedes, if you need a lexus only?

This is the reason, why I'm asking if anybody realized a gateway with IMail only ;-)
This gateway is in fact our regular mail server.

If you've been following this forum for a time, you may have noticed as I have, that there is a lot of praise for the Declude products (note above signiture). I have also noticed a general dislike of the IMail anti-virus, and I've noticed some frustrations with IMail anti-spam.
I used to have my IMail server acting as the gateway for our Exchange server. I decided to put up an IMGate server which now relays to IMail and Exchange. I've turned off the IMail spam checks. Right now, I don't use an anti-virus because rejecting executables and putting Zip files on hold for inspection keeps out most of the dreck. For us, a 200mhz P3 does fine. And when we were receiving 20,000+ bounces a day from a Joe-Job that used one of our email addresses as the sender, a quick filter change rejected those and mail delivery never skipped a beat.
I've never needed a store and forward gateway, but if I bring down Exchange for a while, IMGate holds those emails for later delivery quite nicely.
Of course, your needs are not the same as my needs, and your mileage may vary!
