Can you isolate it to a single file in the queue that the server is hanging on? You might try moving all of the queued files to another directory and moving them back a few at a time to isolate a potential cause.
With v8 a few months ago we saw a file that would hang the server. A subsequent patch to 8.05 fixed that problem, but the situation sounds similar. All of a sudden, starting about week ago, the smtp service just hangs, dumping mail into the spool, where it sits, until the service is manually stopped and restarted in IMAIL Admin. There are no error messages in the logs, the service *shows* as still running, there are no errors in the event log on the server (win2K) and no indication that anything is wrong, except people aren't getting mail and the spool folder fills up. Once the smtp service is stopped and restarted, it goes fine for about a day, maybe 2 or 3, until it hangs again. The server does not appear to be working very hard and the processor does not show as pegged out when this happens. Message load has not significantly increased. Nothing has changed that I can see. I have searched the archives but found nothing related to this version of IMAIL. My immediate thought was just to bite the bullet and upgrade but I am seeing these same issues with the 8.x versions of Imail as well. Anyone out there still running 7.15 and having (or had) this issue? This server (and version of Imail) has worked flawlessly for the last two years.
