hmm.. so how effective can this be, if they are acting as proxy? can't the providers being accessed simply block the Lycos IPs where the traffic is originating from? I haven't had more time to look at what my screensaver is doing, but from the little map they show on the screen, all of the requests appear to come from near the middle of the US, and (obviously) not from my machine. Offhand, I question how well this will work if my machine is not directly hitting the sites in question...
