Can anyone help me with this one. All I want to know is if anyone has
successfully logged into their e-mail account using the full e-mail address.
If it can't be done that's fine I just want to know if its the software
that does not support it or if I have some of the config set incorrectly.

ims won't do it.
my suggestion would be to dump your user base into one of matt simerson's
qmail toasters and be
done with it, since it a) runs on an os that's not full of holes, and b)
will accept full address
logins.
what you're going to need to do is strip out the @ and everything to the
right of it in your
user base to use ims.
there are options to alias the duplicates.
we have solutions to all of your issues, but if you're looking for "works
like exchange but isn't"
then you're on your own.

Subject: RE: IMS POP3 Help [Focus Mail Status - Clean]
Hi Thanks for the reply
The reason is for the past 2 years we have been running Exchange 2000 and
all the customers are familiar with logging in with their e-mail
addresses. Also we are expanding our e-mail system so it will host lots of
different domains and we already have 6 e-mail addresses starting with
"[EMAIL PROTECTED]
I need to make the change as simple and smooth as possible for everyone
using the system so I don't want to have to change the way they login to
collect their mail.

Why do you want to log in with the full email address?

Subject: IMS POP3 Help
Is it possible to use the full e-mail address when logging in to the POP3
service to receive e-mail
I can login no problems with a pre windows 2000 user name such as "bryn"
but when I try and login using a full e-mail address such as
"[EMAIL PROTECTED]" the pop3 service returns the following error message
-ERR [EMAIL PROTECTED] login failed (1326) at point 3 in pass
The password is defiantly correct beccause I can login no problem using
the pre 2000 user name.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
