Bryn,

I'm no Windows server expert, but I tried changing the settings on my Windows 2000 user record and it let me do the POP3 login using a fully qualified email address.

If this is on the track you're trying to use, let me know.

Thanks,

Can anyone help me with this one.  All I want to know is if anyone has successfully logged into their e-mail account using the full e-mail address.

If it can't be done that's fine I just want to know if its the software that does not support it or if I have some of the config set incorrectly.

Kind Regards

Hi Thanks for the reply

The reason is for the past 2 years we have been running Exchange 2000 and all the customers are familiar with logging in with their e-mail addresses. Also we are expanding our e-mail system so it will host lots of different domains and we already have 6 e-mail addresses starting with "[EMAIL PROTECTED]

I need to make the change as simple and smooth as possible for everyone using the system so I don't want to have to change the way they login to collect their mail.

Kind Regards

Why do you want to log in with the full email address?

Subject: IMS POP3 Help

Is it possible to use the full e-mail address when logging in to the POP3 service to receive e-mail

I can login no problems with a pre windows 2000 user name such as "bryn" but when I try and login using a full e-mail address such as "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" the pop3 service returns the following error message

-ERR [EMAIL PROTECTED] login failed (1326) at point 3 in pass

The password is defiantly correct beccause I can login no problem using the pre 2000 user name.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards
