it is probably running in single-ended mode. i think all LVD devices have to be backward compatible by definition of the SCSI-3 specs, so they fall back to lowest common spec supported on the cable. it is the HVD devices that are a different breed all together. i saw that pricewatch.com had 1 listing for that seagate part number for $55 just now.
