Hi Rita!

Let us all know how having two computers downloading from Napster (or the 'Net, in general) works for you.  We are thinking about adding a second computer to our "network" because there are three of us who are always wanting to use the one computer we have hooked up to the 'Net... *G*

I have heard different stories - some say when two are downloading at one time it cuts the bandwidth in half - others say it only makes a very slight difference...  I sort of figure it has a lot to do with your internet settings within the registry; but, who knows???

I am in the process of sending that MP3 directly to your personal e-mail (it would be too large to pass through the group).   For that particular song; I just made sure I did not have it selected in Napster - then, I went to Windows Explorer, right clicked on the title of the MP3, and changed the name from Windows Explorer.  I can only guess that since it didn't work for you; that perhaps the particular MP3 that you had downloaded was somehow corrupted???  Who knows?  :/

(Poor song is sooo large, it's still in the process of sending...  Please let me know if it gets to you in one piece or not... *G*)

I do the same thing. I leave mine set to 3 and even if I want to leave and someone is DL I just remain connected.. I did that this afternoon for at least 3 hours. I believe it's totally rude to interrupt a DL and honestly feel bad for those who time out. My husband is still on a modem and I know it takes him forever to get one MP3 while I can get 10 to his 1. You should hear what he calls me *chuckle* We bought a hub and another Ethernet card so he can connect to my cable box. It's only fair now that he is actually enjoying his computer and spending more time online.

I feel perfectly safe DL at Napster. I am behind a firewall and just configured it to meet the requirements. I am mostly trying to regain lost music from the 70's and 80's. We had an enormous collection stolen and it broke my heart. Now I can get them back and feel I paid my dues once. I never take new material .. just songs I once owned and were lost.

Thanks for the file name change Lisa. Please share your method ... going via DOS and into all the directory changes was tiring and I got so lost. Jay, I guess I forgot more than I remember *S*
