No - it's very easy. You do have to purchase the right hub, though. The cheaper
models would divide the LAN speed by the number of PC on the hub if they are drawing
full capacity (i.e. during downloads, etc.). For example, Adelphia utilizes a 10
megabit lan speed. If I purchase the cheaper hub (around $30), it will give each PC
5 megabits when they need to draw full resources. Of course, it someone on 1 PC is
writing an email, the other will draw all available resources.
I've been doing some research since I want to hook up my old PC I just replaced for
Carmelann. This information came from a co-worker contactor who just retired from
IBM working on their lan software and hardware installations for their customers.
