There are a couple of ways to look at it... Yes, it is supposed to tell you
accurately; but, the software has 'glitches' and doesn't always report the
correct numbers... Besides, again, *if* someone wanted to do harm - they
would likely use other less obvious; more intrusive ways of doing it - not
likely via Napster. For those who are concerned about this; I would suggest
downloading any one of several shareware/freeware FIREWALLS. They are
pretty effective; but, of course, whenever you are connected to the 'Net -
there will always be at least some risk... I just do my best and go with
that (and, TRY not to pi$$ anyone off who might then take it upon themselves
to choose *me* over the other billions of targets at their disposal...).
Napster (and, peer-peer) file sharing is neither good nor evil within
itself... It's the individuals who make/break the trust - not the
software... :|
