some of these probably do not fit in the "easy listening" category however i thought
i'd throw them out onto the list anyhow. since
theres been a question for 20-40 year olds here are some suggestions. each of these
ive found helpful for my faith growth, however
i believe that theres no point in reading most of these books in isolation, start a
book club of people wanting to discuss the
issues raised in the books.

only through confrontation/discussion do we understand :)

oh, these arent really "stuff on the life and thoughts of christ" or "light reading"
but might still be useful

Andrew Dutney - Food Sex and Death * * * * * (great stuff to raise issues of faith)
Sara Maitland - A Big Enough God * *
CS Lewis - The Screwtape Letters* * * * (good old cs lewis, theres some great
discussion raisers there)
The Basis of Union - Where did the joy come from * * * (this is more in the BOU than
anything but its still great stuff)
Ched Myers - Binding the strong man * * * (This is a blooming big book, not for the
light hearted)
Walter Brueggemann - The Prophetic Imagination * * * * (actually i'm planning on
making my way through Brueggemann's stuff, its very
good and challenging)
Dave Andrews - Christi Anarchy * * * * * (dave andrews faith journey)
Leonard Sweet - Soul Tsunami * * * * * (its just a grest read)
David Tacey - Reenchantment * * * (trying to understand spirituality?)
David Tacey - Spirituality Revolution * * * * (still trying to understand this
spirituality stuff?)

The SACC put out a resource a few years ago (2000) that interviewed 18 young adults
and talked to them about their faith, then it
went ahead and asked some study questions. the resource is "Deeper Waters"

When i was younger there was a series of books that i just absolutely loved reading,
(and i hated the old christian reading
material) the series was adrian plass - the sacred diary series. i liked these books
as they actually sounded like and read like
they were personal stories of someone struggling with his faith, and they were pretty
damn funny too! :)

but my biggest reccomendations are food sex and death and christi anarchy, theological
writings told in a personal way.
