I like the example of adultory, Jesus met it in person on several occasions.
(according to some accounts) He had meals with
prostitutes, he talked to them "privately" at wells, he saved them from stoning (where
was the fella?). He even used them
as parables of love.

On what Jesus said - I tried to find out, but could not find an original "reed letter"
version, most others I had were
"translated" into english, a couple in greek (also translated), one in latin (totally
useless to me). I could not find an
aramaic version and could not read it if I could. Trouble is all my translations are
coloured by the original authors,
recoloured by the theology and context of the translators, then coloured again by my
reading and knowledge, and coloured
again when I re-present what Jesus said by presenter and hearers.

My grandschildren (2 and 3 years olds) colour in on the same piece of paper, I wonder
if my sermons are as messy (and
lovely) as their attempts?

Peace,
Rob
