Hi All,

As a long time user, I will have to agree on some of these points, but also differentiate on them a bit...

"...much faster..."
Well, the Java IMR on Mac loads way slower than the IMR version on WinXP, but once it's loaded I don't see much of a difference in raw response time.

"... less steps..."
Ain't this a simple(?) all-round issue in general? Handling 2-10 maps and sub-100 devices is OK, but then it starts to get complicated. My test server has about 130 maps with 1300 devices monitored, and I have to admit that changing notifications and other essential settings per-device is very time-consuming and not that easy. If any work should be done, it should not be a 'simple port' of what has-been in IM Traditional - it should be invested in the right power- GUI for managing large installations... if you ask me. ;-)

I'm sure next time we see a new release of IM(+R) effort will show in enhanced GUI along with whatever new features the Dartware team has weighted most important to us all..

Now, it's time to go offline and get ready for the Depeche Mode concert tomorrow... ;-)

Best,

    Jakob Peterhänsel

As an old Intermapper (Mac) user and as network engineer I am also using a

Fact of life is that (Mac) traditional is much faster in performance and use (less steps) that so logically I prefer the more efficient version.
Also I must buy faster Mac-hardware fore the server version.

Happily is there a good interaction with the intermapper developers and users and they are doing there utmost to built the Mac advantage in the new
system.

Basically Dartware and these customers are trying to iron things out
to keep the best of both worlds.

That's it exactly.
