I saw this, too. While I am wary of ever taking these sorts of over-generalized pieces seriously, there is a kernel of truth here. AM radio listening among those under 19 is in the low single digits and FM is only a few multiples better. I just wrote a column for the November PopComm discussing the future of AM radio in the US for just this reason.

Having grown up with MP3s and iPods, they seldom listen to music on the car radio and pretty much have no use for radio at all." So is it any wonder why broadcasters seeking younger audiences are eschewing good ol' radio, let alone shortwave?? http://www.wfmz.com/lifestyle/List-charts-today-s-college-freshman-culture/-/121 514/16206996/-/jbak4yz/-/index.html Richard Cuff / Allentown, PA USA _______________________________________________ Internetradio mailing list [email protected] http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/internetradio To unsubscribe: Send an E-mail to [email protected]?subject=unsubscribe, or visit the URL shown above.
