Portage actually includes the latest bleeding edge version of ion3. While
Tuomo is making regular (monthly) releases, I'm following the following
policy:
- all versions are marked unstable.
- the last two versions are included in portage, older ones are deleted.
I chose this policy because there are still occasional config file changes
and since users often do emerge -u world blindly, I didn't want to breaking
people's window manager configurations. Version 20050116 was the last one
that got marked stable.
If you want to track ion3 development then add ion3 to
/etc/portage/package.keywords:
echo "x11-wm/ion3 ~x86" >> /etc/portage/package.keywords
emerge --sync
emerge ion3
