----------------------------------------------------------- New Message on Irish Fencing Forum
----------------------------------------------------------- From: Eoin Message 31 in Discussion Force has nothing to do with the level of our fencing. There are plenty of fencers in Ireland, myself included, who would be capable of hitting quite hard and probably drive a broken blade through a jacket. It really comes down to the angle at which the blade impacts at and whether the opponent is coming forwards or not. However what I think is different in Ireland is that we are not so agressive in our fencing and that probably prevents people from getting seriously hurt. But otherwise most people would be capable of generating the force to puncture a jacket with a broken blade. So I suppose a plastron is a good idea afterall. ----------------------------------------------------------- To stop getting this e-mail, or change how often it arrives, go to your E-mail Settings. http://groups.msn.com/IrishFencingForum/_emailsettings.msnw Need help?
