I was surprised that I couldn't find any enhancement bug for this. I
thought that a CI search over all classes would be a common wish, for
example for IP addresses or asset numbers.
I love the idea of a fulltext search over all OTRS content since we
always try to find ticket numbers or FAQs over the current fulltext
search by mistake - it's so intuitive.
But I'm a bit afraid that this would need a long time to implement. I
hoped that a more powerful CI search would be available in ITSM 3.0 or
3.1 :( The search per class is really an unpleasant limitation.
Anyway, the fulltext search is clearly the superior concept and would
really be a great feature. This would be worth waiting for.
I would be very glad to read more about this on the mailing list or in
an enhancement bug.
