At this point I think I'd rather just return the 500 and get two 150s.....i have PCI slots to spare and it's cheaper.

It would be in /var/log/messages or dmesg. During the loading of ivtv
you should see a message like:
tveeprom: tuner = Philips FQ1236A MK4 (idx = 92, type = 57)
tuner: type set to 57 (Philips FQ1236A MK4) by ivtv i2c driver #0
tveeprom: tuner = Samsung TCPN 2121P30A (idx = 87, type = 68)
tuner: type set to 68 (Samsung TCPN 2121P30A) by ivtv i2c driver #0
There are several different Samsung tuners (I think 3). I think mine is
the second Samsung version released. Of course, I could be completely
wrong on this.
