Hello,
When I try to use my Hauppage PVR-500 MCE, all I get is static.
I am trying to record using the cat /dev/video0 > test.mpg and I am
also trying with mythtv.
Sometimes, I can get a very staticy channel, but I can sort of make
out the picture that's coming in.

Currently, I am trying to use ivtv 0.7.3, but I was previously trying
0.7.0 (the standard ubuntu edgy version)
My card has the samsung tv tuner chipsets, which I've read cause some issues.

Originally, I followed the ubuntu edgy ivtv guide at
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Install_IVTV_Edgy
But then I downloaded and installed 0.7.3 from source because I didn't
have them available in ubuntu's own repositories.
Right now, cat /proc/version gives (for ubuntu edgy server)
Linux version 2.6.17-10-server ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) (gcc version 4.1.2
20060928 (prerelease) (Ubuntu 4.1.1-13ubuntu5)) #2 SMP Tue Dec 5
22:29:32 UTC 2006 (Ubuntu 2.6.17-10.34-server)
Thanks in advance
~Matt
