| will I still get the
| advantages of hardware lighting, e.g. on my GeForce 2, which I believe is
| limited to 8 concurrent lights ?

Hi
~ it's a long times since i read this (think it was on the j3d faq) and if i
remember rightly you will, java3d does multi pass rendering, so as long as you
have no more than 8 light sources effecting any 1 surface the lighting will work
ok, if you have more than 8 lights per surface then you get some lights missing
from that surface in the render, what more than 8 lights does do, is increase
the number of render passes for each frame
thats how i remember it anyway, it works for me :)
