I think a good example of what could be achieved by RIA framwork (Flex
in that matter) is Acrobat.com. It contains tools for online
collaboration - Buzzword, Tables and Presentations, last two are in
labs (link at the bottom right of Acrobat.com). Acrobat.com has also
AIR app for install. It can also be used from within Outlook (haven't
checked how it works). Other contender is Java-based ThinkFree
Office.

I think JavaFX needs this kind of show of applications - big, engaging
and useful. I know it is not ready yet and I hope it is months not
years away from being ready to enable this kind of experience.
