Java owes Neal a lot, as does everyone who's using the language today. Neal has always been nothing but supportive of the language, the platform and the community, and if anything, I find it remarkable that even though he joined Microsoft, he's still actively participating in the Java community. I wouldn't be surprised if he made this requirement part of his employment contract with Microsoft, and you have to give credit to Microsoft for allowing its employees to contribute to technologies that are clearly identified as a threat to their business model. Neal also happens to be a super nice guy and I'm sure you would be the first to eat your own words if you ever got a chance to chat with him. -- Cédric -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "The Java Posse" group.
