As currently planned, Java 7 / JDK 7 will be based on what you
currently have as OpenJDK 6.  So it's arguable that it is worth using
OpenJDK 6 now to iron out any problems early.  Also, some Linux users
will end up on OpenJDK 6 without realising (two C programmers at my
company did this on their Ubuntu netbooks, revealing a difference in
PropertyChangeEvents that affected my app).  It is actually certified
as Java.
