Just from looking at the diagrams, RAP sounds more like vaadin, where
widgets live on the server and send HTML diffs back/forth. I'm skeptical
this would make an effective AJAX platform as any events that do nifty
things call back to the server, resulting in a lot of network chatter.
(Correct me if I'm wrong.)

I think this is more what he had in mind:

...though they didn't have the "cloud" part of their stack last time I
looked at it. Not sure what is up with that.
